Playful Summer Engagement Session in Downtown Chicago | Natalie & Aaron

We recently met up with Natalie and Aaron for their engagement session in Chicago, and it couldn’t have been more fun. As a Chicago wedding photographer, I always love when couples bring great energy—and these two brought it from the very first frame.

We started their Chicago engagement session at the Kinzie Street Bridge, one of my favorite spots for engagement photos downtown. The industrial textures, city views, and warm light gave us plenty to work with. Natalie and Aaron’s playful banter and easy chemistry made it easy to capture candid, natural moments.

From there, we headed to North Avenue Beach, a popular engagement photo location thanks to its unbeatable views of the Chicago skyline. On this sunny afternoon, the beach was full of volleyball players, which added a fun, energetic vibe to the backdrop. Instead of working around the crowds, we leaned into it and used the movement and life of the beach to create something unique and true to the city.

Chicago engagement sessions are always unique, and this one felt especially personal and lively. Whether it’s the architectural charm of downtown or the laid-back vibe by the lake, the city always delivers.

I’m excited to photograph Natalie and Aaron’s wedding next month and continue capturing their story. If you’re planning your own engagement session in Chicago, I’d love to help you find locations that reflect your style and personality.
