I recently had the pleasure of photographing Julia and Jacob’s wedding at Galleria Marchetti in Chicago. This beautiful venue, just west of River North, is known for its lush gardens and elegant outdoor spaces. It was the perfect setting for their intimate summer celebration.

Julia and Jacob met in Iowa while Julia was attending the University of Iowa. Their story is full of warmth and connection. Although one special family member couldn’t attend, they were still “present” — thanks to creative cutouts that brought lots of smiles.

The wedding was small and heartfelt. With just their closest friends and family, the day felt relaxed and genuine. Julia and Jacob skipped many traditional elements, focusing instead on what mattered most — spending time with their loved ones.

There were so many memorable moments. From emotional vows to candid laughter during portraits, it was a joy to document. Julia and Jacob were easygoing and kind, which made the day feel even more special.

Galleria Marchetti’s courtyard offered beautiful light for portraits and a private, serene space for the ceremony. The evening flowed smoothly into a laid-back reception filled with joy and great conversation.
