I met up with Sydney and Colin for their engagement session in the heart of Wicker Park, one of Chicago’s most photogenic neighborhoods. They wanted their engagement photos to reflect the city they call home before celebrating their wedding next year in South Carolina.

We started the session near their home in Wicker Park and included their adorable French Bulldog, Frank, in a few photos. The neighborhood’s tree-lined streets, historic homes, and local character created the perfect backdrop to begin the session. The evening light was beautiful, giving us a warm, natural look for their portraits.

Next, we headed to the Chicago ‘L’ at the Damen station. Since Sydney and Colin use the train regularly, it was a meaningful location that represented an important part of their daily lives together.

To finish the session, we made our way to North Avenue Beach. With sweeping views of the Chicago skyline, Lake Michigan, and the city lights beginning to glow, it was the perfect location for iconic Chicago engagement photos. The combination of the beach, skyline, and sunset created a timeless backdrop and highlighted everything they love about living in Chicago.
