I had the opportunity to photograph Max’s surprise proposal to Carolyn at Welles Park in Chicago this past weekend. With the help of family, Carolyn’s uncles brought her to the park under the impression that they were simply out shopping together. As they approached the designated spot, Max was waiting for her and got down on one knee to ask one of the most important questions of his life.

Although Carolyn had a feeling something special was about to happen as she saw Max waiting for her, the moment was filled with genuine emotion and excitement. She happily said yes, and it was beautiful to witness the joy, surprise, and love they shared during the proposal.

Welles Park is a wonderful location for a Chicago surprise proposal, offering beautiful green spaces, mature trees, and a quiet neighborhood atmosphere. After the proposal, we spent time exploring the park and creating engagement photos that captured the excitement of their newly engaged season of life.
