Michelle & Kevin’s Intimate Osteria Via Stato Wedding in Chicago

I was excited to return to Osteria Via Stato, one of my favorite venues in downtown Chicago, to photograph Michelle and Kevin’s wedding. This charming Italian restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere, perfect for smaller weddings with heart and character.

We started the day at their Gold Coast condo. While their daughter napped with her aunt nearby, I captured a few quiet moments of Michelle and Kevin getting ready. Afterward, we stepped outside for some relaxed portraits around their neighborhood. Then we returned to get their daughter dressed and ready for the celebration.

Next, we headed to the Civic Opera House for more portraits. Michelle wanted a timeless and elegant look, and the Opera House delivered exactly that. The classic architecture created a stunning backdrop for their photos.

The ceremony and reception took place at Osteria Via Stato, where about 40 guests—mostly close family and lifelong friends—gathered to celebrate. The space felt warm and welcoming, just like Michelle and Kevin envisioned. Dinner was, as always, incredible. And the gelato station added a fun and delicious final touch.

As a Chicago documentary wedding photographer, I focus on telling each couple’s story in a genuine, unscripted way. Michelle and Kevin’s wedding was intimate, heartfelt, and full of meaningful moments—everything that makes my work so rewarding.
