Earlier this month, we traveled to Indiana to photograph Alyssa and Teddy’s wedding at Meyer’s Castle. This historic venue, located in Dyer, offers a mix of old-world charm and elegant architecture, making it an incredible backdrop for wedding photography. The couple held their ceremony in the castle’s beautiful outdoor courtyard, which was picture-perfect for a summer celebration.
Alyssa and Teddy chose to do a first look before the ceremony, allowing us to capture all of their portraits and wedding party photos in advance. This approach gave them the freedom to enjoy cocktail hour, greet their guests, and fully immerse themselves in the celebration without feeling rushed. For couples who value time with family and friends, this is an ideal way to structure the day.
The wedding party was large but full of energy and cooperation, which made the portrait session both efficient and enjoyable. After the ceremony, the atmosphere shifted into full celebration mode. The dance floor at Meyer’s Castle came alive, and this group did not hold back. Guests danced with an infectious energy that made for some incredible candid shots.
From start to finish, Alyssa and Teddy were a dream to work with—laid-back, easygoing, and completely in sync. Their genuine connection came through in every image, from quiet moments during their first look to the high-energy celebrations late into the night.
If you’re planning a wedding at Meyer’s Castle in Indiana, the combination of historic architecture, lush gardens, and versatile indoor and outdoor spaces makes it an excellent choice for creating memorable photographs.
