I’m thrilled to share highlights from Lauren and Ryan’s beautiful wedding at Artifact Events in Chicago. It had been nearly a decade since I last photographed at this historic Ravenswood venue. Returning to capture their day felt special. Artifact Events offers an industrial-chic atmosphere with exposed brick, large windows, and open spaces—perfect for both portraits and reception photos.
Getting Ready – Zachary Hotel and Home Comforts
Ryan started the morning at the Zachary Hotel with his friends. Located across from Wrigley Field, this boutique hotel provided modern style and plenty of natural light. It was an ideal setting for relaxed, candid moments before the ceremony.
Lauren spent her morning at home with her closest friends, family, and their beloved dog, Ollie. The atmosphere was warm, calm, and full of excitement. Having familiar surroundings helped her enjoy the quiet moments before the day’s events.
Emotional First Look at Horner Park
The couple chose Horner Park along the Chicago River for their first look. The lush greenery and open river views created a peaceful backdrop. It was a humid summer afternoon, and when they read their personal vows, emotions ran high. Tears and sweat mixed together, making the moment authentic and unforgettable.
Ceremony and Reception at Artifact Events
After portraits, we traveled to Artifact Events for the ceremony and celebration. One of the sweetest moments came right after the recessional when Ollie greeted them, tail wagging, as if he understood it was their special day.
The reception was lively and full of energy. Heartfelt toasts brought both laughter and happy tears. Soon after, the dance floor filled, and guests celebrated well into the night. I captured plenty of candid, joy-filled images that reflected the spirit of the evening.
