Daniel & Rose’s Montrose Harbor Engagement Session

I recently had the pleasure of photographing Daniel and Rose’s engagement session at Montrose Harbor. They were referred to me by Brian and Ariel, a couple whose wedding I photographed a while ago. It’s always an incredible honor when past clients recommend me. Referrals are the highest compliment, and it means so much to know that my work resonated with them enough to share my services with their friends.

For this session, we started at the bird sanctuary, one of my favorite spots at Montrose Harbor. The natural surroundings there provided the perfect backdrop, and we were fortunate to have beautiful light. I always aim to incorporate nature into my shoots whenever possible, and this location didn’t disappoint. The light filtering through the trees created a soft, warm glow that made each shot special.

Daniel and Rose were so much fun to work with. They were laid back and comfortable in front of the camera, which made everything flow smoothly. I always tell my couples that engagement sessions are great practice for the wedding day. It helps them get used to the camera and feel more relaxed, which makes a huge difference in the final images.

We finished the session with the stunning Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan in the background. The combination of city and nature is one of the reasons I love shooting at Montrose Harbor. It offers so much variety in terms of scenery, which allows for a great mix of photos.

I’m looking forward to capturing even more beautiful moments on their wedding day. This session was a perfect preview of the fun and relaxed vibe that will make their big day special.
