Jess and Thomas’s wedding at City View Loft was an absolute pleasure to photograph! Even with rain on their wedding day, it did not spoil the enjoyment. We started the day with Jess and Thomas’s first look at Hotel Chicago. We managed to find a dry area outside for some natural light photos. The reaction from the two of them was genuine and heartwarming. Jess was just as excited to see Thomas for the first reveal.  After the first look, we joined the wedding party and made our way for some portraits at Union Station and to Hubbard and Green Street. We had to stick with dry areas due to all the rain we had earlier in the morning. These two locations worked out perfectly to get some timeless creative pictures.

Documentary Wedding Photography at City View Loft

After photos, we arrived at City View Loft for their ceremony and reception. This was my first time at the venue and it instantly became one of my favorites.  I loved all the natural light in the ceremony area and the intimate lighting in the reception room with windows all exposed brick to fit the West Loop urban look. There were a lot of little kids at this wedding and they did not disappoint. All the flower girls and ring bearer did their job and gave me many great photo ops throughout the day.

We had a great group of guests that celebrated the night. Thomas also gave us a little dance performance to I believe it was the Back Street Boys.
