I recently had the pleasure of traveling to Seattle, Washington, for an engagement session with Julie and Joe, my September wedding couple. Both originally from Illinois, Julie and Joe moved to the West Coast for their careers. Since their wedding was in Chicago, we decided it would be a perfect idea to capture their engagement photos in Seattle.
Julie and Joe are down-to-earth and fun-loving. Their personalities made the session a blast, and I enjoyed getting to know them better.
Exploring Seattle for Engagement Photos
Seattle boasts a vibrant art culture, with public art projects everywhere. When the city approves new construction, 1% of the project’s cost goes to the municipal arts fund. This commitment to art made Seattle an ideal backdrop for the engagement session.
The food scene in Seattle is also incredible, from gourmet meals to comfort food, giving Chicago a run for its money.
Julie, Joe, and I spent our first day as tourists, checking out Seattle’s top spots. We visited Pike Place Market, where we even watched a fish being thrown. We also saw the boathouse from “Sleepless in Seattle” and the Space Needle (though we skipped the ride to the top). I made sure to stop by Bruce Lee’s grave and Kurt Cobain’s old house, two iconic Seattle spots.
Fremont Troll and the Perfect Engagement Photos
For Julie and Joe’s engagement session, we spent the afternoon shooting in several unique spots, including the famous Fremont Troll under the bridge. I enjoyed capturing their chemistry at these fun locations, which made the photos even more special.
We were lucky with the weather, which helped make the session even more magical. Julie and Joe were so easy to photograph, and I can’t wait to work with them again for their Chicago wedding.
Seattle Engagement Photography
As a Seattle engagement photographer, I love capturing couples in creative locations that tell their story. Whether it’s Seattle’s rich art culture, famous landmarks, or hidden gems, there’s always something memorable to discover.
Thank you, Julie and Joe, for making your engagement session so fun and memorable. I look forward to your wedding day!
