I recently had the opportunity to travel west to Seattle Washington to meet my September wedding couple Julie and Joe. They are both originally from Illinois but migrated out west for career opportunities. Since their wedding was in the Chicago area, we thought it would be a wonderful idea to shoot their engagement session in Washington. So I brought my wife with me on the trip for a little getaway. I absolutely loved Seattle. It was full of art throughout the city. As a matter of fact, when the city approves of new construction, 1% cost of the project is deposited to the municipal arts fund. Food in Seattle is also amazing. From gourmet to comfort food, it gives Chicago a run for its money. First day out in the city we thought it would be a great idea to go on a duck tour and play tourist to see all the great attractions that Seattle had to offer. We got to see the boat house from “Sleepless in Seattle” and the famous Pike Place Market.(we even got to see a fish get thrown) We did see the Space Needle but decided not to ride to the top. I of course went to see Bruce Lee’s grave and Kurt Cobain’s old house. The weather was amazing the whole time we were out there. So we really did luck out. And for Joe and Julie’s session, we spent the whole afternoon hitting all sorts of different and interesting spots for pictures. Especially the Fremont Troll under the bridge. I had a blast getting to know the two of them. Like me, they don’t take themselves too seriously, they are very genuine, and fun to be around. I’m really excited to hang out with them again for their wedding. Thank you guys for being my tour guide for the day. You made this engagement session very special for me. I will see you soon!
