Many moons ago, we had the honor of photographing Rachel’s sister’s wedding, and this time, it was Rachel’s turn to exchange vows with Ben at the beautiful Morton Arboretum. Reconnecting with families is always special, and being part of Rachel and Ben’s day felt like coming full circle.
We had a perfect fall day for their outdoor wedding. Their first look occurred in the serene Spruce area, where the tall trees provided a stunning backdrop. Rachel and Ben then shared personal, emotional vows that set the tone for the rest of the day.
The wedding party was a blast to be around! The bridesmaids even gave me a new nickname for the day—”Hot Cheetos”—which we all enjoyed. It was a lively group, and the energy kept the day lighthearted and full of laughter.
Rachel, being an Iowa Hawkeye, brought some extra Hawkeye spirit to the celebration. I’ve photographed many Hawkeye brides over the years, and it’s always a fun connection to share with them.
The dinner reception was filled with heartfelt speeches, touching moments, and plenty of humor. As the night went on, the guests let loose and celebrated just as Rachel and Ben deserved. It was such a joy capturing the fun energy of their friends and family as they danced and celebrated.
Here are some of the highlights from Rachel and Ben’s wedding day at Morton Arboretum!
