Geneva National Resort Wedding: Capturing Dana and Mike’s Beautiful Celebration
Hello to all my followers and new visitors! Recently, Maggie and I had the pleasure of photographing Dana and Mike’s Geneva National Resort wedding in Wisconsin. The event spanned two days due to church scheduling, which resulted in an entire weekend filled with love, laughter, and celebration.
This wedding holds a special place in my heart. Ten years ago, I had the honor of photographing Dana’s sister, Jessica’s, wedding. Over the years, I’ve also captured a few of their cousins’ weddings. Therefore, it was a joy to reunite with this wonderful family.
Navigating the Rain on Day One
The first day of festivities brought its challenges with unexpected rain. Just as Dana and Mike were about to have their first look, the skies opened up. After their beautiful ceremony at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, we faced another downpour as we prepared for family photos outside the resort. Nevertheless, the group was ready with umbrellas and a positive spirit. We managed to capture stunning family portraits despite the rain.
Dana and Mike were amazing—completely unfazed by the weather. They embraced the moment, and it shows in the photos. We concluded Friday’s celebration under the tent during the cocktail hour, where the couple warmly greeted their guests.
A Perfect Day Two Celebration
Fortunately, the second day was everything we hoped for. The weather was sunny, and the outdoor ceremony overlooking Geneva National Resort’s beautiful golf course was picture-perfect. Additionally, the bridesmaids’ colorful dresses popped against the lush green backdrop, creating a vibrant scene.
As the evening unfolded, everyone enjoyed dinner, followed by dancing the night away to a live band. Ultimately, the entire event was a celebration of love, family, and the joy of living in the moment.
A Memorable Wedding Weekend
Dana and Mike’s laid-back attitude, even in the face of rain, was truly inspiring. Many couples might have been stressed about not getting the perfect shots. However, Dana embraced the day, knowing that rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck. With the right photographer, every moment—rain or shine—can be captured beautifully.
