Sometimes, the best moments happen spontaneously! Last Thursday morning, I received a text from an unknown number asking if I was available for a photo shoot the next day. After a quick reply, I learned it was Katie, who had just arrived from Oklahoma City with her fiancé, Bar, to film a save-the-date video with Turning Point Productions. They wanted to squeeze in an engagement session in Chicago, and luckily, I had an unexpected opening.

A Last-Minute Adventure

Katie and Bar’s deep love for Chicago made this session extra special. Although they’re based in Oklahoma City—where Katie is a dentist and Bar is an orthodontist—they chose to tie the knot in Chicago next July. Since they had no professional photos in the city yet, we took full advantage of the iconic skyline and the gorgeous lakefront views at Oak Street Beach.

It was clear from our conversations that Katie and Bar appreciate the art of photography, making our session even more rewarding. Though they had already booked another talented wedding photographer, I was honored to capture this chapter of their story and experience their enthusiasm firsthand.
