Joanna & Mariusz’s Portrait Session at Adler Planetarium

I recently photographed Joanna and Mariusz, a joyful Polish couple, during a portrait session at Chicago’s Adler Planetarium. They had just gotten married at the DuPage County Courthouse and are planning a larger celebration with their loved ones in Poland.

We chose the Adler Planetarium for its iconic Chicago skyline views and versatile backdrops. The lakefront setting, paired with modern architecture, gave us plenty of creative options for their portraits. Moving between locations, we captured a wide variety of looks within one session.

Joanna and Mariusz brought an incredible energy to the shoot. They laughed often, stayed relaxed, and clearly enjoyed each other’s company. Their chemistry made it easy for me to capture natural, expressive moments from start to finish.

To wrap up the session, we included something special—photos with Mariusz’s sports car. He told me he had never taken a professional photo with it, so we made that happen. The final shots felt fun, stylish, and true to who they are as a couple.

This portrait session highlighted not just the beauty of the location but also the connection between two people excited about their journey together. Whether you’re newly married or planning your big day, a session like this can beautifully document your story in a meaningful place.
