Ceremony & Reception: The Ivy Room

During Alex and Nate’s ceremony, Nate’s sister Anna read a poignant excerpt from President Obama’s remarks, beautifully capturing the essence of love and equality celebrated at their Ivy Room Wedding reception. The exchanging of vows was truly remarkable, filled with emotion and sincerity.

President Obama’s words resonated deeply: “So every year, we set aside this month to celebrate the ways that so many lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans have helped to make our union just a little more perfect… Because of them, because of all of you, there’s a lot to be proud of today.”

Although the ivy hadn’t yet flourished at the venue due to the early season, the ceremony was still enchanting. Alex and Nate opted to get ready together, and we ventured along the Chicago riverwalk for some portraits. The absence of a wedding dress made the photography process smoother, allowing us to focus solely on capturing their genuine connection and joy.
